Wait Training - Waiter Boot Camps
A 90 minute Hospitality Workout. Centered on improving guest relations and increasing sales, I take your staff through a ten step plan to make more money with very little effort (that last part appeals to servers greatly). A properly motivated wait staff creates an environment where customers spend more and return more frequently, improves the restaurant’s bottom line and dramatically reduces employee turnover.
The Total Training Makeover
With the assumption that servers already know how to wait tables, so many restaurants only train their wait staff on how to use their point of sale system and make sure they understand basic compliance issues; yet rarely attempt to impart a philosophy of hospitality and customer service. Based on the Waiter Boot Camp, I will customize training materials for your restaurant to have your wait staff actively participating in the growth of your business (whether you’ve been in business for decades, or are just opening your doors for the first time).
The Undercover Waiter
I will put your training and trainers to the test. I simply arrive as a “new hire” and go through your company's training program. The goal is to get a behind the scenes, unfiltered look at how a new server hits the ground running in your restaurant. The week of training is followed by a reveal which features the highlights of my findings and presents the restaurant owners/management with an insight of areas needing attention.
The Mystery Diner
A simple way to assure that your servers are driven by hospitality is through a secret shopper styled program. Armed with a checklist of predetermined benchmarks, these surprise visits are designed to provide owners/management with a snapshot of your wait staff to insure that they are performing to your company’s standards. Whether they are weekly or monthly, this feedback is a valuable tool for any company trying to improve their guest’s experience.

The culmination of everything I have to offer in my thirty years of waiting tables for Mom & Pop operations to National Restaurant chains, from Diners to Fine Dining. Starting with the Undercover Waiter, a rewriting of your training materials through my Total Training Makeover presented at a Saturday morning Waiter Boot Camp and supported by an ongoing Mystery Diner program.
